The project of putting the libraries of the World online by Microsoft and Google is quite admirable. Such and endeavor helps digitize all human knowledge for the human race, and it greatly increases the acceleration of learning. It helps researchers do their studies and allows the average citizen to engage in intellectual pursuits. This means someone who wishes to make their experience a life time of learning is free to do so.

There can be no doubt that there is a tremendous amount of human knowledge contained within the most notorious libraries of the world. The average citizen cannot get to these libraries and thus, are cut off from all this information. Most people would agree that information is power, but without a life line to this information people remain powerless.
